Train the Trainer Courses

Train the Trainer Courses are designed to follow on from the New Inspector Training Course. This course aims to give participants the skills to assist the training of new Inspectors within their respective Agencies, worldwide.

 My objective was to learn skills on delivering training which are most effective.

Participant, Train the Trainer, Dublin, 2014

Key Features

The primary goal of the Train the Trainer Course is the development of skills necessary to develop and deliver the New Inspector Training course material to Inspectors within the participant’s respective Medicines Regulatory Authority.

  • The content of the course aims:
  • To improve your confidence in relaying the PICS new Inspector training methodology back to your organisation;
  • To enable you to supplement the PICS new Inspector training methodology to meet the needs of new inspectors in your organisation;
  • To introduce learning concepts so that you are aware of key considerations if tailoring the methodology;
  • To advise on how you can create an action plan to develop the full skill set addressed in a Train the Trainer programme.

The ultimate goal is that trainers will leave with the information they need to understand how the PICS new Inspector training methodology is currently structured and why it is structured that way so that they may use and/or supplement this material when training new Inspectors in their organisation. The course content will include the following elements:

  • Theory of training & adult learning;
  • The role of the Trainer;
  • A breakdown of training needs & programme design;
  • Preparing for training delivery;
  • Training Delivery.

Upcoming Train the Trainer

Train the Trainer are only open to Inspectors from PIC/S Participating Authorities, (Pre-)Applicants, Partners and Non-Member National Medicines Regulatory Authorities. The events are not open to Industry. It is not necessary to have completed the New Inspector Training Course, but it is useful to have an understanding of the topics covered.
